It was a mixed market as covid cases continue to rise and stimulus talks on Capitol Hill mosey along on their wayward journey. At the close the Dow was down 148 at 30,069. Meanwhile the NASDAQ gained 55 to 12,519. Trading volume across the board was down. Leading stocks were Tesla, Boeing and Apple.
Tesla jumped to a new all-time high after Wall Street analyst Gene “Herman” Munster upped his target price and said he thinks Tesla has room to run in the next three years thanks to the disruptive technology it is deploying both within and without the auto industry. Herman thinks the stock could triple within the next three years due to the huge technology lead that Tesla has on legacy auto companies. Wall street is gearing up for a couple of IPOs this week. One is Airbnb and the other is food delivery firm Doordash. Both are expected to price on Wednesday and according to the gurus demand for the shares is high.
The Troop 100 Christmas Tree sale essentially sold out this weekend as all the big trees were gone and the only thing left were trees that were under five feet tall. Our original plan was to finish up this annual fundraiser by December 19th but as of Sunday the 6th we are mostly out of trees. We contacted some growers for more trees but they are done shipping for the year. Overall the tree lot was a success. We sold out it record time which means we have enough funds to send scouts on trips and camps where they can experience the joys of being hungry cold and tired for another year. Thanks to the Ballard community for its support!
