Stocks moved higher again today, as investors continue to be cautiously optimistic. With Black Friday, and then Cyber Monday, on the horizon, investors are hoping to see strong sales over the next week. The Dow gained another 54 points and closed at 28,121.
Disney has helped to push the Dow up with strong sales from the release of their latest movie, Frozen 2. Last weekend, movie goers “Let it Go” out of their wallets and brought in $127 million for Disney at the box office. Their worldwide sales topped $350 million and it appears that they’ll easily crack $1 billion and challenge the first Frozen movie as the top-grossing animated film of all time, which made $1.28 billion. Additionally, Disney+ has been a big hit. Analysts initially anticipated that Disney’s streaming service would attract a million new subscribers by the end of the year, and roughly 5 million within one year, however Disney signed up 10 million in the first day and have already hit 15 million.
Apparently, Ford didn’t take to kindly to Tesla showing their truck getting rag-dolled by the new CyberTruck. Ford Vice President, Sundeep Madra, used the official Trump communication system and sent a tweet to Elon Musk, challenging Tesla to a “apples to apples” tug of war – Elon responded with “bring it on”. Details of when, or even if, this will ever happen have still not been released, but some say it could happen as early as next week.
