The markets were more or less inactive for most of the day, and then finished with a flurry. The Dow closed at 22,405, up 24 points for the day. The S&P and NASDAQ hit record highs as tech led the way.
Biotech stocks traded lower today after the FDA made its database of side effects searchable. This includes the capability to see adverse events. One issue for the companies is that the cause of the adverse events is not certain, but it certainly gives the impression that it could be caused by the drug. For this reason, traders have decided to take some risk off the table.
